A great revenge against those various forms of disruptions is to have a friend on the inside. Many moons ago I worked at a cinema for a few years. A personal favorite was when we had a few very disruptive children causing problems and who were warned more than once about it. A few of decided a grand plan so we actually stopped the film, brought the theater lights up and walked in to give them the boot. They were so awful that everyone else there actually applauded their departure.
I absolutely despise when people can not stop talking, or giggling nervously in a horror movie. If you can’t handle the suspense get out, you’re ruining the atmosphere of the movie.
These are the the exact reasons that I see most films on Sky, rather than going to the pictures. I am not a tolerant person at the best of times, but the cinema does tend to bring out these apaulling behaviours in people. Great post.
That’s exactly how I am. I’ll never forget this one guy who was a few rows ahead of me who jingled his keys through the whole move in a crowded theater, and no one had the courage to tell him FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP!
I actually did manage to shush a couple of kids awhile back, but only because I their parents sat far enough down that I didn’t think they would hear me. Parents are crazy.
Crazy! I saw a film once where a group of children where completely ignored by their parents as they proceeded to spend most of the running time of the film running laps of the cinema screaming and shouting. That was the day I vowed never to have children. That last bit might be a lie, but it was definitely a very annoying experience.
Haha! That’s a good one. Especially the ‘noisyest foods known to man’ part. I even find myself making too much noise while eating popcorn, so I try chewing slower, which not only doesn’t work, but actually makes MORE noise for a longer duration.
But wait…what’s up with… What!?.. …so, Darth Vador is actually Luke Skywalker’s FATHER?!?! Dang it! I was just about to get to that scene!
I’m fortunate this doesn’t happen often, but when it does…
Had three teenagers sat behind me when I saw The Wolverine. They questioned the Yakuza assassin’s ability to free run over building tops as ‘unrealistic’ in a film about mutants.
Better yet was the ‘That’s a big bomb’ comment at the nuke going off.
That’s another one of my pet hates when it comes to cinema noise – people’s strange desire to loudly proclaim things that are profoundly obvious to every single person watching the film, like “that’s a big bomb”.
Hahaha. Add the “Always-asking-what-happened” type of movie goer and I’m sure you’ll be on your boiling point. 😛
Absolutely! Literally any of the above are enough to leave me fuming.

Haha, amazing! Why aren’t there people like you working in any of the cinemas I go to?

I experienced that for the first time the other day. I had no idea people actually acted like that outside of soap operas!
LOVE this.
Thanks buddy. Glad you liked it:)

Thanks very much. Yes, I’m fairly sure (IE not sure at all) that poor cinema etiquette is to blame for the rise of piracy.

At least with your own kids you can tell them to be quiet without exacting the rage of a terrible entitled parent!
Haha, good point!

Haha, good point. This one probably should have come with a spoiler warning!
I know what you mean about the popcorn. I do the exact same thing.
Laughed out loud. This is my life.
